Our client is one of the world’s most recognised brands and, as such, is under constant scrutiny. In the fast-paced arena of e-commerce, it is easy for successful companies to quickly outgrow their infrastructure, particularly when it comes to communications.
Our client achieved substantial global growth in a relatively short period. Eyeful was initially approached by this EMEA business to develop a look and feel for their PowerPoint presentations as this had been bypassed in the rush, leaving them with disjointed results that did not reflect the integrity of their brand.
The client needed adaptable guidelines throughout their business that would support their need for strong, structured messaging. This was more than simply creating a template full of interesting layouts and pretty pictures; it was decided that a root and branch review of their corporate presentations was required.

REVIEW THE CURRENT PRESENTATION EXPERIENCE
Before starting the design process, we needed to know how presenters used PowerPoint.
This highlighted several different audiences and engagement types (formal, conversational and informal).
We announced a ‘PowerPoint Amnesty’, where presenters could share non-brand compliant slides without retribution! We identified key slides that would benefit a wider internal audience and incorporated these into the plan.
IMPLEMENT STORY STRUCTURES
Two specific story structures were identified as valuable for a range of presentation scenarios – Audience Pathway Model and Key Message Headline.
Each was incorporated into the template structure to ensure ease of use and consistency across new presentations.
The design process commenced focusing on respecting the brand guidelines while also ensuring accessibility standards were upheld across all slides within the template.
The new PowerPoint template was rolled out to the business, accompanied by a series of short instructional videos to help ensure users would get the maximum benefit from the new tool.
In addition, monthly ‘Ask the Expert’ webinar sessions were run to support ongoing best practice across the business.
